The full-time starting salary is normally 44131.00 per annum with progression available in post to 51182.00 per annum.

Birmingham City University is a large vibrant and culturally rich higher education provider based in the heart of the city. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a fulltime Lecturer on our BA (Hons) Photography course within the Department of English & Media.
Ranked as the number one photography degree course in the UK for two years running (Guardian League Tables 2024 & 25), the course is growing rapidly built upon a rich blend of practice and theory and a strong focus on employability. The course embraces diverse approaches to photography encompassing a wide range of genres and empowering student‑led approaches to their practice.
We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Photography who is dynamic and visionary with both creative and technical expertise. Previous teaching experience is desirable but not essential.
The successful candidate will- Have the ability to teach across all levels of the course and feed into curriculum development.
- Ideally possess a teaching qualification and / or HEA Fellowship though the university can also support applicants in attaining these after starting. Industry experience is also highly valued.
- Be expected to understand the industry's ever-changing landscape and prepare graduates for opportunities within this growing sector.
