Educational Psychologist @ EdPsychs Ltd | Chartered Psychologist

EdPsychs have been successfully providing psychological services to schools since 2009.

We are now looking for an Assistant Psychologist (AP) for one of our schools in Birmingham.

Our AP team work alongside our educational, clinical, counselling and coaching psychologists supporting our schools, and we provide a very high level of training, mentoring, supervision and support for our APs. We are very proud of our AP team (and over 100 of our APs so far have progressed onto professional doctorates in educational, clinical and counselling psychology - and many of our former APs now work with us as professional psychologists) and they provide invaluable psychological support in our schools.

This new Birmingham AP will work under the supervision of an educational psychologist. They will receive additional supervision and support in wellbeing groups (run by counselling psychologists) and clinical supervision groups (run by a clinical psychologist). They will also be mentored by Senior APs and TEPs.

APs receive extensive on‑going training, and EdPsychs pay for our Birmingham APs to travel to London for AP training.

This year, our APs have worked directly with schools to support students with learning needs, SEMH, emotion based school avoidance, ASD, ADHD and a wide range of other needs. APs also support EdPsychs psychologists with our wider school project work which this year has included:

Responsibilities
  • Setting up and running whole school study skills programmes, nurture groups and wellbeing programmes
  • Setting up and supporting alternative provisions
  • Helping schools achieve wellbeing charter marks and IQM awards
  • Improving school attendance
  • Helping schools save on supply teacher costs (one of our secondary schools saved over £250,000 last year running EdPsychs programmes in this area)

You can learn more about EdPsychs and the wider work we do on our website at

You can only apply to be an AP through our website at:

The closing date for this Birmingham AP role is Friday 30th January 2026, although we will start AP interviews before this and we may close the role early if we find a suitable candidate.

Apologies, but we don't accept one click applications here. We do not offer overseas VISAs for our AP roles.

We hope you enjoy the interview process and good luck in your application!
