CERT Solutions is seeking a compassionate and adaptable SEN Teacher to join a specialised school in Great Barr. This setting is dedicated to students with Severe Learning Difficulties, ranging from EYFS to Post-16.
The school focuses on providing a curriculum that balances life skills, sensory development, and academic progress at an appropriate pace. We need a teacher who can look beyond the disability to unlock the potential of every student. This position offers the security of a full-time, long-term role.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver lessons specifically for students with SLD, focusing on sensory engagement and functional life skills.
Use proactive strategies to support students with sensory processing needs and associated challenging behaviours.
Utilize total communication environments including symbols, objects of reference, and signing.
Requirements
* QTS
* Significant experience working with students who have severe learning difficulties and complex health or sensory needs.
* Comfortable working across the age range from EYFS to Post-16.
* Proficiency in PECS, Makaton, or other AAC methods is essential desirable.
