Role Overview

We are seeking a passionate and committed Youth Coordinator to plan, deliver, and develop engaging programmes for children and young people aged 6–18. The successful candidate will create safe, supportive environments where young people can thrive, develop life skills, and feel heard.

This role is ideal for someone who is hands‑on, community‑focused, and motivated to make a real difference.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver youth sessions including mentoring, workshops, sports, and creative activities
  • Support young people’s personal, social, and emotional development
  • Create and maintain safe, inclusive, and welcoming spaces for all participants
  • Assist with organising trips, off‑site activities, and community events
  • Work closely with volunteers, partners, parents, and the wider community
  • Ensure safeguarding policies and professional boundaries are followed at all times
  • Monitor attendance and contribute to basic reporting when required
Person Specification Essential
  • Experience working with children and/or young people
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Reliable, organised, and able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion
Desirable
  • Youth work qualification or relevant training
  • Experience working in community or grassroots settings
  • First Aid and safeguarding certificates (or willingness to obtain)
  • Experience working with young people from diverse or marginalised backgrounds
