Contract: Long-term temporary role with a view to a permanent position
Salary: MPS / UPS (dependent on experience)
A well-established secondary school in North Birmingham is seeking a dedicated English Teacher to join its department on a long-term basis, with the opportunity to secure a permanent role.
The school provides a structured, inclusive learning environment, with clear behaviour expectations and a strong focus on literacy, progress, and consistency. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who values high standards and enjoys working as part of a collaborative team.
The Role- Teach English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4
- Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons aligned to the national curriculum
- Use assessment effectively to monitor progress and raise attainment
- Maintain clear routines and positive behaviour management
- Differentiate learning to meet the needs of mixed-ability learners
- Contribute to departmental planning and whole-school literacy initiatives
- Support pupils' confidence in reading, writing, and communication
- QTS or a recognised UK teaching qualification
- Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature
- Experience teaching English at secondary level
- Confident classroom presence and effective behaviour management
- Ability to commit to a long-term role in one school
