About the role

Are you an experienced administrator with an interest in HR? If so, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an HR Administrator to join our growing team of professional and dedicated staff at Mayfield School. Experience of HR and/or working in a school is desirable but not essential. You will play a key role in providing a professional, efficient and proactive HR service working with the school HR Manager, school SLT and central HR team.

We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal skills who can communicate effectively at all levels. You will be comfortable working productively in a fast paced environment managing multiple tasks including the following:

  • Recruitment administration
  • Maintaining the Single Central Record
  • Administering DBS checks
  • Staff absence administration and conducting return to work meetings
  • Minuting meetings.

Candidates should be willing to undertake CIPD level 3 or 5 if not already held. Experience of working with students is desirable and at interview, you will be able to clearly display a commitment to the pastoral care of students in the school.

* This post is advertised at Grade 3; however, appointment at Grade 4 (£34,434 - £41,771) may be considered for an exceptional candidate who can demonstrate the required knowledge, skills and experience at that level.

About the school

Mayfield School is a special school for 310 pupils aged between 2 and 19 with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities including autism. Mayfield is a Unicef Rights Respecting School on a journey to achieve gold status.

You will be supported in your role by the school leadership team, the central HR team and other HR professionals from across the Trust and attend Trust wide HR group meetings regularly, in addition to having individual regular contact and support from the central HR team.
