Year 6 Teacher – Special Needs School – Central Birmingham
A welcoming and well-established special needs school in Central Birmingham is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 6 Teacher to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Year 6 Teacher who is passionate about inclusive education and supporting pupils with additional needs during a key transition year.
Responsibilities- Teaching a small Year 6 class within a special needs setting
- Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons across the curriculum
- Supporting pupils academically, socially and emotionally
- Preparing pupils for transition to secondary education
- Creating a calm, structured and inclusive classroom environment
- Working closely with Teaching Assistants and specialist staff
- Monitoring progress and contributing to EHCP targets
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching pupils with SEND (desirable but not essential)
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- A nurturing, patient and flexible approach
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Small class sizes and high levels of classroom support
- A supportive and welcoming staff team

- Ongoing CPD and professional development
- Pay to scale MPS1 - MPS6
