Head of Art

We are looking for a Head of Art to monitor the delivery of the activity across James Brindley Centres and to ensure high standards in classroom practice, organisation and curriculum assessment. Many of our Young People have gaps in their education and we strive to implement creative teaching strategies to reduce the impact of educational disadvantage, enabling all our Young People to access learning and make expected progress.

You should be passionate about developing and supporting the needs of the whole child and committed to enabling all pupils to thrive. We are looking for a qualified teacher with tenacity, positivity and experience of teaching the subject at KS3 and KS4. You should have QTS and a track record as a consistently good practitioner. Please be aware that this post is subject to an enhanced DBS clearance check and any offer of employment is made conditional of this.

You will also be required to register and pay for the DBS update service and ensure that documentary evidence is produced to ensure annual compliance and updates. You will also be required to provide written consent for the employer to access this information at any time.

This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent and spoken English is an essential requirement for this role.
