Job OverviewAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Class Teacher to join Leycroft Academy. The school is a primary special school situated in the eastern area of Birmingham, catering for pupils who have a Statement of Special Educational Need or an Education and Health Care Plan, with a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The curriculum extends the National Curriculum and is delivered through a natural progression from the Early Years Foundation Learning programme to full participation within the National Curriculum framework.
The Class Teacher will actively support school activities where required, including educational trips, extra‑curricular activities and parents’ evenings, which may require some out‑of‑hours availability.

- Be passionate about developing children as independent learners and thinkers.
- Eager to develop excellent teaching practice and create a learning environment where all pupils can achieve their best.

- Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills, able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Organised, professional and proficient, with appropriate IT skills.
- Work with the SENCO to ensure pupils with SEND are appropriately supported.
- Work with the DSL and deputies to promote safeguarding.
- Support LAC and previously LAC under the designated teacher.
- Hold a Bachelor's Degree and QTS qualification.
