Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and committed Year 6 Teacher to join a supportive primary school in Small Heath, Birmingham. This role is ideal for a confident teacher who can support pupils through their final year of primary education and prepare them effectively for their transition to secondary school and SATs.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality lessons, raising attainment, and ensuring pupils are well prepared both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the Year 6 national curriculum
Prepare pupils for Key Stage 2 SATs and support them in reaching their full potential
Assess, track, and report on pupil progress
Differentiate lessons to support a wide range of abilities
Maintain strong classroom management and high behavioural expectations
Work closely with teaching assistants and other staff members
Participate in staff meetings, planning sessions, and school activities
Communicate regularly with parents and carers regarding pupil progress and development
Ensure safeguarding and school policies are followed at all times
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Previous experience teaching Year 6 or upper Key Stage 2
Strong knowledge of the KS2 curriculum and SATs preparation
Excellent organisation and planning skills
Ability to motivate and inspire pupils
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
