Job Title:
Learning Support Assistant - Maternity Cover
We are looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant on a maternity cover basis in a nurturing, inclusive school, supporting students to overcome barriers, build confidence and achieve their potential, while gaining valuable experience alongside dedicated staff in a positive environment where every child is supported and inspired daily.
Pay range: SCP 7 - 11 £ 23,222.16 - £24,751.66 (FTE: £26,406 - £28,142)
37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year
Permanent
- Implement planned learning activities/teacher programmes as agreed with the teacher, adjusting activities according to pupils’ responses as appropriate
- Supervise and provide particular support for pupils, including those with special needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities
- Support pupils in social and emotional well‑being, reporting problems to the teacher as appropriate
- Assist with the implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour plans and Personal Care programs under the supervision and guidance of teaching staff
- Establish constructive relationships with pupils and interact with them according to individual needs
- GCSE Maths and English minimum grade 4 or equivalent
- TA2 qualification or equivalent or relevant experience
Relevant educational experience supporting a child/children in a school setting and the relevant age range - Ability to work with an individual child or with a group
