Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic individual with a passion for genomics education, training and workforce development to join the Genomics Education Programme (GEP).

The GEP is the national team responsible for shaping education in genomics across England. It is part of the Workforce, Training and Education directorate within NHS England, which provides leadership for the education and training system.

Responsibilities

This post provides an exciting opportunity to use your specific education and training expertise to help our innovative team by designing and developing the content of bespoke educational resources, as well as taking the lead on key curriculum and competency framework development work for the specialist genomic and general workforce.

Using your knowledge of genomics, you will work in partnership with subject matter experts and contribute to the development of high‑quality educational resources across a range of formats, including multimedia resources, e‑learning courses, webpages and articles.

Using your knowledge of education and evaluation theory, you will monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of educational initiatives you are involved in and report these findings, make recommendations for changes when required, as well as contribute to GEP resources, including GeNotes.

You will build professional and productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, subject matter experts, professional bodies, and other groups, ensuring the successful design, development and delivery of educational resources that meet audience needs and the goals of the GEP.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in our offices. Staff recruited from outside the NHS will usually be appointed at the bottom of the pay band.
