Long‑term to Permanent Vacancy

The Role
  • Deliver 1:1 mentoring sessions for pupils requiring additional support
  • Run small group interventions focused on wellbeing, resilience and social skills
  • Support pupils with SEMH needs, behavioural challenges and emotional regulation
  • Conduct regular wellbeing check‑ins and monitor pupil progress
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, families and staff
  • Support behaviour management strategies across the school
  • Work alongside teachers, the SENCO, safeguarding team and external agencies
  • Encourage positive attitudes towards learning, attendance and school life
The Ideal Candidate
  • Previous experience supporting children with SEMH or behavioural needs
  • Experience working in a pastoral, mentoring, youth work or school‑based support role
  • Strong behaviour management and relationship‑building skills
  • Understanding of emotional wellbeing and trauma‑informed approaches
  • Ability to remain calm, patient and resilient in challenging situations
  • Experience working with external agencies and support services (desirable)
  • Relevant qualification in Education, Youth Work, Counselling or similar (desirable)
  • DSL or safeguarding training would be advantageous
