The working hours for this role are expected to be 27.5 hours per week, 38 weeks per year. The start date for this role is 01 September 2026.
Rushall C of E Primary School is seeking to appoint a passionate and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant. As a member of staff within our Trust, you will contribute to a collaborative working environment and play a key role in supporting the learning and development of all pupils.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Teaching Assistant to join the team on a fixed-term maternity cover basis, providing essential support to the class teacher in delivering the National Curriculum. The role involves working closely with individual pupils and small groups, helping to develop key literacy and numeracy skills while promoting engagement, independence and confidence. The successful candidate will foster a positive, inclusive learning environment, supporting children’s emotional wellbeing, behaviour and self-esteem.
They will contribute to the implementation of individual learning plans, including supporting pupils with additional needs and providing personal care where required. Responsibilities also include preparing resources, supporting classroom organisation, and maintaining high standards of safeguarding, health and safety. Strong communication skills are vital, as the role requires effective liaison with teachers, parents, carers and external professionals, alongside providing feedback on pupil progress.
As part of a dedicated school team, the post holder will uphold professional standards and actively engage in ongoing training and development throughout this maternity cover position.

This role will involve contact with children, and the post holder will be engaged in regulated activity relevant to children and will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check before appointment is confirmed.
We will only submit a DBS application to the relevant disclosure service when a position is accepted.
