Science Technician – GR 2

Salary: £24,796‑£26,824 (Full Time, Pro‑rate, TTO)

Waverley Education Foundation (WEF) is a Multi Academy Trust operating Waverley School and Waverley Studio College. With over 1,900 students, we deliver services that support learning, leadership and management and improve outcomes for children and young people.

Waverley School is an all‑through school for students aged 4–19, with a Resource Base for students with cognition and learning difficulties. In its recent Ofsted inspection in September 2021, Waverley School was graded as a ‘Good’ School. The secondary phase has 1,174 students including Sixth Form. We have state‑of‑the‑art facilities for learning, teaching and training and a dedicated staff team committed to the learning and development of all our students.

We are looking for a highly motivated and committed individual to join our team as a Science Technician. The successful candidate will prepare and clear away all equipment and materials for lessons, support teachers in practical lessons as required, and safely operate all science equipment in accordance with Health & Safety regulations. They must exhibit strong initiative, work efficiently under tight deadlines, and possess excellent knowledge of Health & Safety/COSHH Regulations for all science equipment and materials.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to forge strong working relationships are essential.

This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016); therefore, the ability to speak fluent spoken English is an essential requirement for this role.

The successful candidate will need to meet the person specification, be subject to an enhanced DBS check and an online “Keeping Children Safe in Education” check.
