As a Psychology Graduate Behaviour Mentor, you will play a key role in supporting students to overcome barriers to learning, develop positive behaviours, and achieve both academically and personally. As a Psychology Graduate Behaviour Mentor in Dunstable, you will work closely with pupils who may present with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, behavioural challenges, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and other additional support needs.
You will provide targeted one-to-one mentoring, classroom support, and behaviour intervention strategies to help students thrive within the school environment.
Key Responsibilities Provide one-to-one and small-group mentoring for pupils requiring behavioural and emotional support Support students in developing self-regulation, resilience, and positive coping strategies Build strong, trusting relationships that encourage engagement and personal growth Assist teachers in implementing behaviour support plans and intervention strategies Promote a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment Support pupils during lessons, transitions, break times, and other key points throughout the school day Monitor student progress and contribute to behaviour and wellbeing reports Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff, SENCOs, parents, and external professionals Candidate Requirements Degree in Psychology or a related discipline Genuine interest in behaviour, mental health, and child development Previous experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable individuals is advantageous Understanding of SEMH, ASD, ADHD, or behaviour support strategies is desirable Calm, patient, and resilient approach to challenging situations Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proactive, reliable, and adaptable attitude Passion for making a positive impact on young people's lives Why Join This School?
