Monarch Education are working with a secondary school in Perry Barr to appoint a SENDCo on a full-time, long-term basis starting in September.
The SENDCo will lead the development of SEND provision and manage the day-to-day coordination of support for students with additional needs.
Job Specification Main Purpose- Lead SEND policy and provision across the school
- Manage the delivery of SEND support
- Work with staff, parents, and external agencies
Strategic Responsibilities
- Monitor and review SEND provision
- Ensure SEND policy is implemented and aligned with school improvement plans
- Contribute to school evaluation and planning
- Monitor the use of SEND funding
Operational Responsibilities
- Maintain the SEND register and provision mapping
- Identify students with SEND and coordinate support
- Track and analyse student progress
- Keep accurate records
EHCP Responsibilities
- Manage EHCP processes and annual reviews
- Ensure compliance with SEND requirements
- Liaise with parents, carers, and professionals
Teaching and Learning Support
- Advise staff on supporting SEND students
- Promote the graduated approach to SEND support
- Support differentiation in the classroom
Partnership Working
- Act as the main contact for external agencies and the local authority
- Work with external professionals
- Communicate with parents and carers
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Degree or equivalent
- Experience working with SEND in a secondary school
- Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice
- National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCo)
