Remedy Education is working in partnership with a specialist SEMH school in Islington to recruit a dedicated and resilient Maths Teacher for a full-time, long-term position starting as soon as possible.

This unique school supports students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and has a strong emphasis on the performing arts, creating a creative, nurturing, and engaging environment where young people are encouraged to thrive both academically and personally.

The Role

As a Maths Teacher, you will play a key role in helping students build confidence and achieve positive outcomes. You will:

  • Teach Maths across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs
  • Adapt teaching strategies to support students with SEMH needs
  • Create a calm, structured, and positive learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, pastoral teams, and senior leaders
  • Monitor, assess, and track student progress effectively
  • Foster positive relationships that encourage student engagement and achievement
The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a teacher who is passionate about making a difference and has:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching Maths at secondary level
  • Previous experience working with SEMH students or young people with additional needs
  • Strong behaviour management skills and a consistent approach to classroom practice
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • A patient, adaptable, and resilient attitude
