Year 4 Graduate Teaching Assistant

Could you help Year 4 pupils build confidence and make stronger progress in class? Are you looking for a primary school role that gives you valuable Key Stage 2 experience before teacher training?

The Role

Provide targeted 1:1 and small group support across a Year 4 class, helping pupils stay engaged and make steady academic progress. You will reinforce learning in English, Maths, and wider curriculum areas, support class routines, prepare simple resources, and work closely with the class teacher to help pupils build confidence in their learning.

The Candidate

You are organised, encouraging, and able to explain ideas clearly to primary-aged pupils. You want meaningful school-based experience, enjoy helping children grow in confidence, and are keen to develop the practical classroom skills needed for a future in teaching.

Requirements
  • Degree – A 2:2 or above in a creative subject.
  • Communication – Clear and confident verbal and written communication.
  • Enhanced DBS – Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.
  • Desire to work in education/with children – Genuine interest in supporting pupil progress and wellbeing.
  • Career Goals – A desire to train as a teacher and build a long‑term career in education.
