Overview

Reed Further Education are currently recruiting for a Brickwork Lecturer to join a well-established further education provider delivering high-quality construction training in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with brickwork experience looking to progress within education or transition from industry.

Role Details
  • Job Title: Brickwork Lecturer
  • Contract: Permanent
  • Hours: 37 hours per week (full time)
  • Salary: £27,336 - £42,924 per annum (dependent on experience)
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging theory and practical brickwork sessions up to Level 3
  • Teach across City & Guilds and NVQ programmes
  • Plan, prepare and develop course materials and schemes of work
  • Monitor learner progress and support achievement of targets
  • Provide academic and pastoral support to students
  • Complete assessments, marking and feedback in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate registers, ILPs and tracking documentation
  • Manage classroom behaviour, attendance and engagement
  • Contribute to internal and external quality assurance processes
  • Support enrichment activities, work placements and learner development
Requirements
  • Level 3 qualification in Brickwork (City & Guilds or equivalent)
  • Teaching qualification (PGCE/Cert Ed/DTLLS/PTLLS) or willingness to work towards
  • Experience teaching or training in brickwork/construction
  • Strong understanding of FE curriculum and assessment
  • Good IT skills and ability to support learner progress tracking
  • TAQA Assessor/Verifier qualification (desirable or willingness to obtain)
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain
