Teaching Personnel is seeking an experienced and motivated SEND Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming mainstream school in the B7 area of Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and proactive individual who is passionate about supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to achieve their full potential.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives on taking initiative, is confident leading interventions and supporting staff, and can identify what needs to be done without waiting for direction.
The Role
As a SEND HLTA, you will play a key role in supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, working closely with the school's SENDCo, teaching staff, and wider support team. You will lead small group and 1:1 interventions, support classroom inclusion, and help create a positive learning environment where every child can succeed.
We are looking for someone who:
Holds a HLTA qualification or has relevant equivalent experience.
Has strong experience supporting children with SEND within a school setting.
Is confident leading learning independently and delivering targeted interventions.
Demonstrates initiative and is able to identify priorities without needing constant direction.
Can take ownership of responsibilities and lead by example.
Has excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
Is adaptable, organised, and committed to making a positive impact on pupils' progress and wellbeing.
