GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEN TA to work with schools in Birmingham
, providing tailored support to pupils with additional learning needs in a supportive and inclusive environment.

As a Special education Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will work closely with teachers and SEN staff to support students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, helping them access learning, build confidence, and develop essential skills.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-to-one or small group support for students with SEN.
  • Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum and completing tasks.
  • Support the teacher in managing behaviour and maintaining a positive classroom environment.
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement in learning.
  • Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) where required.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to support student progress.
Requirements of SEN TA:
  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, caring, and supportive approach.
  • Ability to adapt to different learning needs and situations.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • Must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or completing an application for a new check.
