Osborne Primary School is seeking to appoint a committed, passionate and dedicated Learning Mentor to join our supportive team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about making a difference in children’s lives and helping them overcome barriers to learning. Our school has high ambitions for our children and community, and we are looking for someone who can nurture and inspire pupils to reach their full potential.

Responsibilities
  • Assess the needs of pupils and use knowledge and specialist skills to support pupils’ learning by helping them to overcome barriers to learning both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Help raise and maintain the standards of achievement and improve attendance and behaviour.
  • Establish productive mentoring relationships with pupils, act as a role model, and set high expectations.
  • Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils.
  • Encourage pupils to interact and work co-operatively with others and engage all pupils in activities.
  • Ensure pupils have access to an ambitious, broad, and balanced curriculum.
  • Promote pupil independence and employ strategies to recognise and reward achievement and self‑reliance.
  • Secure positive family support and involvement through regular contact.
  • Support the role of parents in pupils’ learning.
