Overview
We are seeking to recruit an outstanding SEN Learning Coach with a focus on Communication and Interaction difficulties and Autism, to join our dedicated Inclusion team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in ensuring that pupils with SEND receive the support, guidance and opportunities they need to flourish by developing, creating and implementing a range of interventions and coaching strategies that support the ethos of the School.
ResponsibilitiesThe role of the learning coach is multifaceted and includes the following broad areas:
- Working directly with staff, pupils and their families, to identify barriers, share information and support the specific needs of individual pupils and students.
- Contributing to the development of staff knowledge and skills through coaching and delivering CPD.
- Leading on the EHCP review process and monitoring of provisions for an allocated cohort of pupils.
- Line managing a small group of Teaching Support Assistants (TSA’s).
- With support from the SENDCo, coordinating provision and support for pupils with differences in communication and interaction, including those with Autism.
The successful candidate will have experience of supporting children and young people with special educational needs, particularly communication and interaction needs and autism. They will be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of inclusive teaching and learning practices, and have experience of using their specialist knowledge and skills to coach and support others to develop their practice. They will have the ability to build good relationships with all members of the school community and exhibit a positive and committed approach to helping each child to maximise their full potential.
