Position: Special Educational Needs Tutor

SEN Tutor

Location: Birmingham City Centre & Surrounding Areas
Pay: £20–£25 per hour (depending on experience)
Job Type: Flexible Part-Time or Full-Time (Monday–Friday)

Make a Difference Through One-to-One Tuition

Connex Education Partnership is looking for passionate and experienced SEN Tutors to support children who are unable to attend school. You’ll deliver personalised one-to-one tuition in a setting that best meets each learner’s needs, most commonly within their home.

This is a rewarding opportunity to help pupils build confidence, improve literacy skills, and re-engage with learning.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Deliver tailored one-to-one tuition to pupils with a range of additional needs.
  • Support learners with Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, SEMH, EHCPs
    , and other SEN.
  • Plan engaging lessons that develop:
    • Reading
    • Writing
    • Spelling
    • Grammar
    • Literacy and communication skills
  • Adapt your teaching to suit individual learning styles and EHCP outcomes.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils and their families.
  • Monitor progress and provide regular feedback.
  • Create a calm, supportive, and encouraging learning environment.
Areas Available

We have tuition opportunities across:

  • Birmingham
  • Harborne
  • Sutton Coldfield
  • Lichfield
  • Wolverhampton
  • Surrounding areas
Working Pattern
  • Monday to Friday
  • Minimum of 2 hours per day, per pupil
  • Additional hours available
  • Flexible working to fit around your availability
What We’re Looking For
  • Teaching or tutoring experience (QTS or non-QTS)
  • Experience supporting children with SEN and/or SEMH needs
  • Knowledge of literacy development and the National Curriculum
  • Patient, adaptable, and nurturing approach
  • Experience in schools, alternative provisions, or home tuition is desirable
  • Driving licence and access to a vehicle preferred, but not essential
