    Long-Term | Temp-to-Perm Opportunity Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant who enjoys helping children build confidence and succeed during the early years of their education?

Long Term Futures are partnering with a welcoming primary school in Birmingham (B16) to recruit a KS1 Teaching Assistant for a long-term opportunity starting in September.

This is a varied and rewarding position where you'll support pupils across Key Stage 1, delivering targeted interventions, assisting children with additional needs and providing occasional PPA cover when required.

Whether you're an experienced Teaching Assistant or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking to broaden your classroom experience before securing a teaching post, this role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a supportive and collaborative school.

The Role

Support teaching and learning across Key Stage 1 classrooms.

Lead small group interventions focusing on phonics, reading, writing and numeracy.

Provide targeted support for pupils with SEN, both on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.

Adapt learning activities to ensure all pupils can access the curriculum.

Support children's confidence, independence and emotional wellbeing throughout the school day.

Work alongside class teachers and the SENCO to deliver tailored support and monitor progress.

Provide occasional PPA cover by delivering pre-planned lessons and maintaining high expectations for behaviour and learning.

Contribute to creating a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate

Previous experience working within a Key Stage 1 setting.

Strong understanding of phonics and early years learning strategies.

Experience delivering interventions that support pupil progress.

Experience supporting children with additional needs in a primary school.

Confident leading small groups and comfortable covering PPA sessions when required.

Patient, adaptable and enthusiastic with a positive attitude.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
