Salary: £32,916 (M1) - £45,350 (M6) per year + SEN allowance £2,786 - UPS Considered

Salary: MPS £32,916 (M1) - £45,350 (M6) per year - plus SEN Allowance (£2,787)

UPS considered if correct candidate plus SEN Allowance (£2,787)

We are seeking a motivated and inspiring ICT / Computing Teacher to join our growing SEND school and help shape the future of our children and young people as part of a dynamic and supportive team.

Starting in September this role is required as we expand our cohort in our new purpose-built building.

What you’ll be doing :
  • Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality ICT and Computing lessons using approaches that enable autistic young people to thrive.
  • Deliver a relevant and forward-thinking curriculum, including digital literacy, online safety, and (where possible) coding and/or game design.
  • Embed ICT skills across learning, equipping pupils with the knowledge and confidence they need for their futures.
  • Act as a class tutor, meeting pastoral needs and building strong relationships with parents and carers.
  • Adapt teaching to meet a wide range of needs, ensuring all learners are supported and challenged.
  • Plan and deliver lessons that develop both academic understanding and essential life skills.
  • Contribute to a collaborative team culture and wider school life.
  • Lead and support enrichment opportunities, including off-site activities where appropriate.
What we’re looking for:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS)
  • Strong classroom practice and the ability to engage and motivate learners with diverse needs
  • A passion for ICT/Computing, with experience or interest in coding and/or game design highly desirable
  • Experience in delivering computing related qualifications up to level 2.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A creative, flexible approach to curriculum delivery
  • A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and continuous professional development
  • SEND qualifications/ training or willingness to work towards one is desirable

Opened in 2018, Oakbridge School is an independent special day school in Birmingham with a specially designed learning environment created to meet the needs of autistic children. We provide a calm, low arousal, safe, positive and nurturing place where young people can learn and grow.

Oakbridge School is part of Kedleston Group. We specialise in providing specialist education and care for children aged 7-19 with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). These include autistic spectrum condition (ASC), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and social emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).
