Long Term Futures is seeking a caring and enthusiastic EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the King's Norton area from September 2026. The school is looking for someone with experience supporting children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), particularly those with Special Educational Needs (SEN). You will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to provide tailored support for pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASD), speech and language difficulties, communication needs, and developmental delays.
This is a rewarding opportunity to help young children build confidence, independence, and the foundations for lifelong learning in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEN within the EYFS setting
- Support children with Autism, speech and language, and communication needs
- Deliver targeted interventions linked to EHCP outcomes and individual learning plans
- Encourage language development, social interaction, and emotional regulation through play-based learning
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive EYFS activities
- Promote positive behaviour and support pupils' personal, social, and emotional development
- Build positive relationships with pupils, families, and the wider school team
- Previous experience supporting children within EYFS
- Experience working with pupils with SEN, particularly Autism and communication needs
- Knowledge of the EYFS Framework and child development
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills
- Patient, nurturing, and enthusiastic approach to supporting young learners
- Understanding of safeguarding and inclusive practice
- A dedicated consultant supporting you throughout the recruitment process
