Vision for Education is seeking a dedicated Pastoral Support Worker to work in a specialist school in Birmingham
.
- Provide pastoral, emotional, and behavioural support to pupils, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve positive outcomes.
- Build positive relationships with pupils and deliver one-to-one and small group interventions focused on wellbeing, confidence, emotional regulation, and social development.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, safeguarding leads, SEN staff, and families to support pupils attendance, behaviour, and personal development.
- From September, to support the creation of a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
- The school supports pupils with a diverse range of additional needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, and associated learning needs.
- Staff are dedicated to fostering a caring, inclusive, and nurturing environment where every pupil is valued and encouraged to achieve their full potential. A strong emphasis is placed on pastoral care, wellbeing, and personalized support, ensuring that pupils are equipped to succeed both academically and personally.
- Based in Birmingham, the school is easily accessible by public transport and offers a welcoming, collaborative working environment where staff are supported in their professional development and encouraged to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people.
- Experience working with children or young people who display challenging behaviour, SEMH needs, Autism, or ADHD.
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach with the ability to build positive relationships quickly.
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
- Passionate about supporting young people to achieve positive outcomes and reach their potential.
- Previous experience as a Behaviour Mentor, Teaching Assistant, Youth Worker, Support Worker, or in a similar role is desirable.
