The Opportunity

An established and forward‑thinking independent school in Birmingham invites applications for the position of Business Studies Teacher. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high‑achieving academic faculty within a school that values intellectual curiosity, leadership and innovation.

We are seeking a knowledgeable and inspiring educator who can bring business concepts to life, equipping pupils with the analytical, financial and strategic thinking skills needed for future study and employment.

The Role
  • Teach Business Studies across Key Stages 4 and 5
  • Deliver engaging lessons covering enterprise, marketing, finance, operations and human resources
  • Prepare pupils for GCSE and A Level examinations
  • Encourage debate, critical thinking and real‑world application of business theory
  • Contribute to enrichment opportunities such as enterprise projects, investment clubs or business competitions
  • Support pupils with university applications, including competitive courses in business, economics and related fields
  • Play an active role in the wider academic and pastoral life of the school
  • Independent school life extends beyond the classroom, and the Business Studies Teacher will be expected to contribute fully to co‑curricular and enrichment programmes

The Person

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

  • A strong academic background in Business, Economics or a related field
  • Qualified Teacher Status (or equivalent experience in the independent sector)
  • Experience teaching GCSE and A Level Business Studies
  • The ability to inspire analytical thinking and commercial awareness
  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
  • A willingness to contribute to co‑curricular and enrichment activities
  • A clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities
