About the Opportunity
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Special Primary (SEN) Teacher to join an outstanding specialist setting supporting primary‑aged pupils with a range of additional needs.
Responsibilities- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
- Teach pupils across the primary age range with a variety of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
- Adapt learning to support pupils with Autism (ASC), communication needs, moderate to severe learning difficulties and associated additional needs.
- Create a nurturing, structured and inclusive classroom environment.
- Work closely with Teaching Assistants, therapists, parents and the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, ensuring lessons remain engaging and accessible.
- Contribute to EHCP targets, annual reviews and individual learning plans.
- Promote positive behaviour, confidence and independence throughout the school day.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.
- Previous experience teaching within a primary or specialist SEND setting.
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- A patient, adaptable and creative approach to teaching.
- The ability to build strong relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
- Experience teaching pupils with Autism (ASC), SLD, PMLD, speech and language needs or complex learning needs is highly desirable.
