Monarch Education is working with a secondary school in Small Heath who are looking for a full‑time Religious Studies Teacher to join them from September.
This is a long‑term role with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
The school is looking for a qualified RS Teacher who can deliver engaging lessons across KS3 and KS4, supporting students with key topics around religion, ethics, philosophy and world views.
QTS is required for this role.
This role would suit someone who can create a respectful classroom environment where students feel confident to share ideas, ask questions and develop their understanding of different beliefs and viewpoints.

- Teaching Religious Studies across KS3 and KS4
- Delivering lessons on religion, ethics, philosophy and world views
- Supporting students with written responses, analysis and evaluation
- Encouraging respectful discussion and independent thinking
- Planning clear, engaging and accessible lessons
- Preparing students for assessments and GCSE content where needed
- Adapting lessons to support different ability levels
- Managing behaviour in line with school expectations
- Working with the Humanities department to support student progress
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
- Experience teaching Religious Studies in a secondary school setting
- Strong knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 RS curriculum
- Confidence leading discussion‑based lessons
- Good classroom management skills
- Strong communication and organisation skills
- A reliable, professional and proactive approach
- Ability to make RS engaging, relevant and accessible
- Commitment to safeguarding and supporting student wellbeing
