Pastoral lead - Welfare Office

Pastoral Officer Full-Time | Monday to Friday | 8:15am 3:45pm Are you passionate about supporting young people's emotional wellbeing and helping them overcome barriers to learning? This role would particularly suit applicants with backgrounds:

• Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN)
• School-based pastoral support
• Counselling or therapeutic services
• Careers Advice and Guidance
• Youth work, family support or social care

Hours:

8:15am 3:45pm

• Providing pastoral and emotional support to pupils throughout the school day.
• Building positive, trusting relationships with children to improve engagement, attendance and wellbeing.
• Supporting pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), including those with high levels of need.
• Working with pupils who have experienced trauma, including Looked After Children (LAC) and those with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
• Supporting the de-escalation of behaviours that may arise from emotional distress, anxiety or unmet needs, using positive behaviour support strategies.
• Supervising school corridors and communal areas to promote pupil safety and wellbeing, helping to prevent pupils from leaving designated areas without authorisation.
