The Role:
As a Primary Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will provide focused phonics support to pupils who need extra help with early reading. You will work with individuals and small groups, helping pupils build sound recognition, decoding skills and reading confidence. You will also support classroom learning and help pupils stay engaged during literacy-based activities.

The Candidate:
This role will suit a creative graduate who is patient, encouraging and confident supporting pupils with early reading development. You should be able to explain tasks clearly, build positive relationships and help pupils feel more confident when tackling phonics and literacy work. This is a strong opportunity for someone considering primary teaching or a future career in education.

Requirements

- 2:2 degree or above in a creative subject.
- A genuine interest in primary education and early reading development.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain learning clearly.
- A patient, supportive and encouraging approach to helping pupils improve.
- Enhanced DBS - Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.

The School:
This primary school in the Ward of Hodge Hill is looking for a graduate who can support pupils with phonics and help raise attainment. You will work alongside teaching staff to provide targeted support that helps pupils develop stronger reading foundations and greater confidence in the classroom.
