Art Teacher

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Art Teacher who is passionate about inspiring learners through creativity, self-expression and artistic development. This is an exciting opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives of young people by delivering engaging, practical lessons that build confidence, resilience and achievement.

Based at our Hockley or Northfield site, you will report directly to the Head of Teaching and Learning

Salary: Competitive salary (dependent on experience)
Hours: 9:15am - 3:30pm
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday
Lunch and Breaks: 1 hour (unpaid)
Hours per Week: 26 hours 15 minutes
Location: Hockley or Northfield, Birmingham

As our Art Teacher
, you will deliver engaging and inspiring lessons that encourage pupils to explore a wide range of artistic techniques, develop their creativity and build confidence in their own abilities. Working with small class sizes, you will adapt your teaching to meet the individual needs of pupils, many of whom require additional support to overcome barriers to learning.

We're looking for someone who has:

• A recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, DET, Cert Ed or equivalent).
• A degree or relevant qualification in Art, Fine Art, Art & Design or a related subject

• Experience teaching Art at secondary level.
• Excellent lesson planning, preparation and organisational skills.
• Experience of assessing, monitoring and tracking pupil progress.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• The ability to differentiate learning for pupils with a wide range of abilities and additional needs.
• High expectations of pupils' achievement, behaviour and personal development.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A commitment to inclusive education and improving outcomes for young people.
• A flexible, resilient and positive approach to teaching within an Alternative Provision environment.
• A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Experience of working within an Alternative Provision, specialist setting or with pupils with SEND or SEMH needs would be advantageous but is not essential.
