Position: Administration Assistance (Exams)

Examinations Administrative Assistant - Join Our Supportive Alternative Provision Team

Flexible Learning School is an Ofsted-rated Good, independent alternative provision supporting secondary-aged pupils across Birmingham. We are seeking an organised, enthusiastic and highly accurate Examinations Administrative Assistant to join our friendly and dedicated team.

Working closely with the Exams Officer and Deputy Headteacher, you will play a vital role in supporting the administration of internal and external examinations, ensuring examination processes run efficiently and in accordance with awarding body regulations. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator who enjoys working in a busy school environment and wants to make a real difference to the educational experiences of young people.

The Role

Based at our Hockley site
, you will report to the Exams Officer/Deputy Headteacher
.

  • Salary: £25,350 per annum
  • Hours: 8:30am - 4:30pm
  • Working Pattern: Monday to Friday
  • Lunch Break: 30 minutes (unpaid)
  • Contract: Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
Key Responsibilities

You will:

  • Support the administration of all internal and external examinations.
  • Assist with examination entries, timetables and candidate information.
  • Prepare examination documentation and maintain accurate records.
  • Draft letters, reports and examination correspondence.
  • Respond to examination-related enquiries from pupils, parents and staff.
  • Assist with post-results services and the issuing of examination certificates.
  • Update examination policies and procedures.
  • Carry out accurate data entry using school systems.
  • Provide administrative support across the wider school when required.
What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Excellent administration and organisational skills.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines.
  • A professional, reliable and flexible approach.

Previous experience within a school, examinations environment or using a school Management Information System (MIS) would be advantageous.
