Teacher – SEND School - September Start
Are you a passionate Teacher looking for an opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives of children and young people with additional needs? This outstanding specialist SEND school in Birmingham is looking for a dedicated Teacher to join its supportive and forward-thinking team.
The school provides a highly personalised education for pupils with a range of additional needs, with a strong focus on developing communication, independence, confidence and academic progress. You will work as part of a collaborative team to plan and deliver engaging lessons that are carefully adapted to the individual needs of your pupils. The school places a strong emphasis on personalised learning and ensuring every pupil has the opportunity to achieve meaningful outcomes.
The Role- Teach a class of pupils within a specialist SEND setting
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated and personalised lessons
- Adapt the curriculum to meet individual learning needs
- Support pupils' academic, social, emotional and personal development
- Work closely with Teaching Assistants and other specialist professionals
- Monitor pupil progress and contribute to EHCP outcomes
- Create a positive, structured and engaging learning environment
- Promote independence, communication and confidence
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching within either primary, secondary or specialist education
- A genuine passion for working with children and young people with SEND
- Strong classroom management and differentiation skills
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues
- A patient, creative and adaptable approach
- Previous SEND experience would be advantageous but is not essential
