Teacher Active is proud to be working with an outstanding 11-18 comprehensive school in Solihull with approximately 1,700 students. The school has a strong culture of high achievement and professional development, with excellent resources and facilities and a successful Science department.

The school is looking to take on a Science Technician from September 2026, working 37 hours per week during term time, 39 weeks per year, Monday to Thursday 8am-4pm and Friday 8am-3.30pm. The successful Science Technician will support the technician team by preparing equipment, materials and experiments for lessons and examinations, maintaining equipment and stock records, and ensuring laboratories, preparation rooms and chemical stores remain safe and organised.

• Experience working within a Science laboratory, school or similar environment
• Knowledge of safe laboratory practices, including the storage and handling of chemicals and materials
• Experience preparing equipment and materials for practical Science lessons
• Excellent organisation and stock control skills
• An understanding of health and safety procedures within a laboratory environment
• A reliable, proactive and adaptable approach to supporting the Science department
