Sports Lecturer Birmingham Temporary Ongoing Contract 22.5 Teaching Hours per Week £27 per hour

About the Role

The College are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Sports Lecturer to join the curriculum team on a part-time, temporary ongoing basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and support learners across a range of sport-related subjects, delivering engaging lessons that prepare students for further study and careers within the sports industry.

Teaching Timetable Monday
  • 9:00am to 12:00pm
  • 1:00pm to 4:00pm
Tuesday
  • 9:00am to 10:30am
  • 10:45am to 12:00pm
Wednesday
  • 9:00am to 10:00am
  • 10:45am to 12:00pm
  • 1:15pm to 2:45pm
  • 3:00pm to 4:30pm
Thursday
  • 9:00am to 10:30am
  • 1:15pm to 2:45pm
  • 3:00pm to 4:30pm
Friday
  • 9:00am to 10:30am
  • 10:45am to 12:15pm
Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons across the sports curriculum.
  • Assess student work and provide constructive feedback.
  • Monitor student attendance, progress and achievement.
  • Support learners' personal and professional development.
  • Maintain accurate records and complete administrative duties.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and quality improvement activities.
  • Promote positive learner engagement and achievement.
Person Specification Essential
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Sport, Sports Science, Sport Management, Psychology, Coaching, or a related subject.
  • Experience teaching, training, coaching, or delivering learning programmes.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Strong subject knowledge across a range of sport-related disciplines.
  • Ability to engage and motivate learners from diverse backgrounds.
Desirable
  • Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS or equivalent).
  • Experience teaching within Further Education or Higher Education.
  • Industry experience within the sport sector.
