This is a full-time role starting ASAP and continuing for the remainder of the academic year.

  • Supporting the pupil to access learning and complete appropriate tasks
  • Encouraging engagement, particularly during less preferred activities such as writing
  • Using strategies such as a Now and Next board to provide structure and routine
  • Supporting the child with emotional regulation when they become tired or dysregulated
  • Providing regular rest breaks throughout the day when required
  • Using creative activities and crafts as a tool to help the pupil regulate and reset
  • Building a positive, trusting and consistent relationship with the child
The ideal candidate will

  • Have a good understanding of emotional regulation and dysregulation
  • Be confident using visual strategies and structured routines
  • Be adaptable and able to respond to the individual needs of the child
