Position: HEAD OF YEAR – (NON-TEACHING)

ONE-YEAR FIXED TERM CONTRACT IN THE FIRST INSTANCE 36.50 HOURS PER WEEK TERM TIME ONLY (PLUS TWO WEEKS) HOURS OF WORK: 8.15am - 4.05pm GRADE 4 £ 35,412 - £44,075 (pro rata)

We are seeking to appoint an exceptional Head of Year to join our dedicated pastoral team. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious professional who is committed to supporting the academic, personal and emotional development of girls and ensuring that every student has the opportunity to achieve her full potential.

As Head of Year, you will provide strong pastoral leadership and be responsible for the day-to-day welfare, progress, attendance, behaviour and personal development of students within your year group. You will work closely with students, parents and carers, teaching staff and the wider pastoral team to create a positive, inclusive and supportive environment in which every student can succeed.

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Have high professional standards, a strong work ethic and is resilient.
  • Has a strong commitment to improving outcomes and opportunities for young people. Has experience of working in a pastoral or student-support role within a secondary school.
  • Can build positive, trusting relationships with students and communicate effectively with parents and carers.
  • Has high expectations of behaviour, attendance, achievement and personal development. Is organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities effectively. Can use data and information to identify students who may require additional support or intervention.
  • Is confident in dealing with challenging situations and supporting students through difficult circumstances.
  • Works collaboratively and is committed to contributing positively to the wider life of the school.
  • Shares our commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
