Pay: £95 – £110 per day

Connex Education are currently working with a welcoming and supportive school in Handsworth who are looking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant who is ready to take on greater responsibility within the classroom, support high-quality teaching and learning, and make a real difference to pupils’ progress.
The RoleAs a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting the class teacher and leading learning activities and lessons where required.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting the class teacher with the delivery of engaging and effective lessons
Leading whole-class, small-group and individual learning activities
Delivering pre-planned lessons when required
Supporting pupils to remain focused, engaged and motivated
Helping to maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management
Providing targeted support to pupils to help them make progress
Working collaboratively with teachers and other support staff
Preparing and organising classroom resources and activities
Building positive and professional relationships with pupils and staff
Contributing to a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment
To be considered for this role, you must:
Hold a minimum Level 3 Teaching and Learning qualification
Have previous experience working within a school or educational setting
Have experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar education-based role
Be confident leading learning activities and supporting teaching across the classroom
Have strong behaviour management and communication skills
Be confident taking on additional responsibility
Have a patient, enthusiastic and adaptable approach
Be able to work effectively as part of a wider school team
Be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS if you do not already have one registered on the Update Service
Be able to provide a minimum of 2 references, including your most recent employer
Previous HLTA experience is desirable, but experienced Teaching Assistants with a Level 3 qualification who are ready to progress into a higher-level role will also be considered.
