We are seeking to appoint an experienced, committed and highly motivated Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to join our team at Mansfield Green and play a key role in ensuring the safety, wellbeing and welfare of all our students.
As the Designated Safeguarding Lead for Child Protection, you will provide comprehensive support to the Headteacher in all aspects of child protection and safeguarding. You will take a strategic lead in safeguarding practice across the academy, ensuring that our policies, procedures and practices promote a culture where every child feels safe, supported and able to thrive.
Key responsibilities:- To provide leadership and management support for safeguarding across the academy, ensuring a safe and secure environment in which pupils can develop and learn.
- To identify, interpret and implement relevant national safeguarding and child protection legislation, statutory guidance and best practice, ensuring these are reflected in academy practice.
- To monitor and review safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures, ensuring the academy meets all statutory, Trust and local requirements.
- To lead and support safeguarding and child protection training for all staff groups, ensuring staff are aware of current procedures, responsibilities and their duty of care towards pupils
- To act as a safeguarding specialist within the academy, providing advice and guidance on safeguarding and child protection concerns and making appropriate referrals to external agencies where required
- NJC SCP 22- 27 £ 31,402.20- £35,614.90 (FTE: £34,811 - £39,481.00)
- Full time, 37 hours per week, term time 40 weeks per year.
- Permanent.
- Level 3 Safeguarding Training (DSL/DDSL level)
- Knowledge and experience of statutory safeguarding, child protection, assessment, thresholds, multi-agency working and working with children and families
- Strong understanding of KCSIE, safeguarding and child protection legislation, statutory guidance and local safeguarding procedures
- Manage difficult and sensitive conversations confidently and professionally
- Confidently use ICT and specialist safeguarding systems such as CPOMS
