Teacher Assistant/ Paraprofessional, Elementary School, Special Education Assistant
Flourish Education are recruiting for a KS1 Teaching Assistant to join a Primary School in the Harborne area. This is a full-time role starting as soon as possible and continuing until the end of the academic year.
The role will involve supporting pupils within Key Stage 1, helping them access learning and develop their confidence across the curriculum. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and wider school team to provide effective classroom support, including supporting phonics using the Little Wandle scheme.
Responsibilities as a KS1 Teaching Assistant- Supporting pupils across Key Stage 1
- Providing 1:1 and small group support where required
- Supporting pupils with Little Wandle phonics
- Helping pupils access learning and classroom activities
- Supporting pupils with their social, emotional and academic development
- Assisting with classroom routines and preparation
- Working closely with the class teacher and wider school team
- Helping to maintain a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable
- Experience working with children within a Primary School setting
- Experience supporting pupils within KS1
- Knowledge or experience of the Little Wandle phonics scheme
- Good understanding of the KS1 curriculum
- A calm, patient and supportive approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Reliable and proactive approach
- £92.59 to £95 daily rate of pay, dependent on experience
- Holiday Pay – 12.07% accrued for PAYE candidates

This position is based in the Harborne area, with good transport links and easy access from Edgbaston, Selly Oak, Quinton, Bartley Green, Bearwood and surrounding areas.
