Aspire People is recruiting confident, reliable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors for secondary schools across Birmingham and Solihull, with opportunities available from Monday 2 November and throughout the remainder of the academic year.

Whether you're available for a couple of days each week or looking for a full-time position, we'd be interested in discussing your availability.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

As a Cover Supervisor, you'll take responsibility for classes when the regular teacher is absent, ensuring pupils remain engaged and complete the work provided.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Supervising secondary school classes across KS3 and KS4.
- Delivering pre-prepared lesson activities and instructions.
- Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment.
- Supporting pupils with their work and encouraging participation.
- Following school safeguarding and behaviour policies.
- Providing feedback to teaching staff at the end of lessons.

You won't normally be expected to plan lessons or undertake the full responsibilities of a qualified teacher.

WHAT OPPORTUNITIES ARE AVAILABLE?

We recruit for daily supply, short-term cover, regular weekly bookings and long-term Cover Supervisor positions.

Our opportunities cover Birmingham and Solihull, including East Birmingham, South Birmingham, Shirley, Chelmsley Wood, Castle Bromwich and surrounding areas.

We understand that candidates have different working preferences, so we'll discuss your availability, travel arrangements and preferred school environments.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We're particularly interested in candidates with previous experience working with secondary-aged pupils, including established Cover Supervisors, Teaching Assistants, graduates with relevant school experience and individuals with a background in youth work or education.

You should be confident supervising groups of young people, managing challenging behaviour appropriately and communicating instructions clearly.

Strong classroom management, reliability, adaptability and a professional approach are essential.

QTS is not required for this position.
