Secondary Supply Teacher | Birmingham

£170-£220 per day | November 2026 Starts | Choose Your Working Days

Qualified secondary teacher looking for more flexibility, a better work-life balance or a change of school environment?

Aspire People is recruiting Secondary Supply Teachers across Birmingham for opportunities starting after October half-term, from Monday 2 November onwards.

Whether you're looking to work one or two days a week, secure regular bookings or find a longer-term teaching position, we'd like to hear from you.

We work with secondary schools throughout Birmingham, including East Birmingham, South Birmingham, North Birmingham and the surrounding areas.

SUPPLY TEACHING THAT WORKS AROUND YOU

One of the biggest advantages of supply teaching is having greater control over your working week.

You can tell us which days you're available, how far you're willing to travel and which types of schools or assignments you prefer.

We recruit for a range of opportunities, including:

  • Daily supply teaching with no ongoing commitment.
  • Regular weekly bookings in familiar schools.
  • Short-term assignments covering staff absence.
  • Long-term subject-specific teaching positions.
  • Potential permanent opportunities for teachers considering their next career move.

Whether your specialism is Maths, English, Science, Humanities, MFL, PE, Computer Science, Design Technology or another secondary subject, we would be interested in discussing your availability.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

You will need QTS or QTLS and experience teaching within a secondary school environment.

We're looking for reliable, adaptable teachers who can confidently manage a classroom, follow school policies and deliver engaging lessons across KS3 and KS4.

For daily supply, lessons will generally be planned in advance, allowing you to focus on delivering the work, maintaining classroom routines and supporting pupils throughout the day.

Longer-term positions may involve planning, marking, assessment and wider teaching responsibilities.

We welcome applications from experienced teachers, ECTs, teachers returning to the profession and those looking to move away from a permanent classroom position.

WHY WORK WITH ASPIRE PEOPLE?
  • Competitive daily rates of £170-£220, depending on experience and assignment.
  • Weekly pay.
  • Flexible working arrangements to suit your availability.
  • Opportunities across Birmingham, with consideration given to your preferred travel distance.
  • Access to daily, short-term and long-term secondary teaching assignments.
  • A dedicated secondary recruitment consultant who understands the local school market.
