Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and helping them achieve their full potential? We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary academy in Birmingham.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a supportive school community where every child is encouraged to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

About the School

This is a larger-than-average primary academy with approximately 700 pupils on roll, serving a diverse and vibrant local community. The school is committed to creating an inclusive environment where every child feels safe, valued and inspired to succeed.

Its ethos centres on high expectations, respect, kindness and ambition, with a strong focus on developing the whole child. Staff work collaboratively to provide engaging learning experiences while ensuring pupils receive the support they need to flourish.

The school is rated Good by Ofsted, with inspectors praising its inclusive culture, strong leadership, positive relationships between staff and pupils, and ambitious curriculum.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs.

  • Support children with a range of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, and social, emotional and mental health needs.

  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver personalised learning and intervention programmes.

  • Encourage positive behaviour, independence and confidence.

  • Help create an engaging, safe and inclusive learning environment.

  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.

The Ideal Candidate

You will:

  • Have previous experience supporting children with SEN in a school or similar setting.

  • Be patient, caring and adaptable.

  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Be committed to helping every child achieve their potential.

  • Work effectively as part of a team while also using your own initiative.

What We Offer
  • Competitive daily rate of £95-£110 per day.

  • Full-time, term-time only position.

  • A supportive and welcoming school environment.

  • Ongoing professional development opportunities.

  • The opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young learners.

If you're passionate about supporting children with additional needs and want to be part of a school that values inclusion, excellence and pupil wellbeing, we'd love to hear from you.
