Solar Installation Manager
Location: Solihull, West Midlands
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £60,000 to £65,000 per annum
Valoris Group is supporting a well-established renewable energy contractor in the appointment of a Solar Installation Manager. This is a senior operational role responsible for the end-to-end delivery of Solar PV installation projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on programme, within budget, and to a high technical standard.
The successful individual will lead installation teams, oversee project delivery, and act as a key point of contact between internal stakeholders and clients.
Key Responsibilities Project Delivery- Manage Solar PV installation projects from mobilisation through to completion
- Plan and coordinate labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractors
- Track project progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions
- Ensure projects are delivered on time and within agreed cost parameters
- Lead, supervise, and motivate installation teams on site
- Provide guidance, training, and support to junior engineers and supervisors
- Enforce high standards of health, safety, and workmanship at all times
- Carry out site surveys, assessments, and feasibility reviews
- Review drawings, specifications, and installation designs
- Ensure all installations meet design intent, MCS standards, and industry best practice
- Act as the main point of contact during the installation phase
- Provide clear progress updates and manage client expectations
- Liaise closely with internal sales, engineering, and procurement functions
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, building regulations, and renewable standards
- Conduct site inspections, quality checks, and final sign-offs
- Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting
- Proven experience managing Solar PV installations or renewable energy projects
- Strong technical understanding of electrical systems and solar technologies
- Demonstrable leadership and team management capability
- Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Comfortable in client-facing environments
- Relevant qualifications or certifications preferred (City and Guilds, MCS, NABCEP or equivalent)
- Full UK driving licence
Office-based in Solihull with regular travel to live project sites
Monday to Friday, with occasional flexibility required to meet project demands
Mix of office-based planning and on-site supervision
