The Design Engineer role is responsible for supporting business strategy, delivering profitable, organic growth and continuous improvement, by interacting with customers, interpreting technical specifications, and converting these into a world class product or service.

The Design Engineer role is part of the Design Engineering team and involves working collaboratively with Project Management, Operations/Production, Quality and Supply Chain departments.

• Design and engineer flow control components considering pressure, temperature, and environmental factors.
• Conduct engineering analyses, calculations, and qualification/test planning for product validation.
• Review and interpret FEA, CFD, and physical test data.
• Ensure compliance with military, government, and internal quality and safety standards.
• Support the full engineering lifecycle from concept and bid to production and testing.
• Select appropriate materials and oversee product and compliance testing.
• Develop prototypes and perform functional/environmental validation.
• Troubleshoot failures and implement design improvements.
• Produce engineering documentation, drawings (BS8888), and reports.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for system integration.
• Maintain MRP/PDM data and report progress to stakeholders.
• Manage time, cost, and risk within project budgets.
• Drive continuous improvement and innovation

• 5+ years’ experience in a relevant field
• Experience in creating engineering calculations and design/product validation
• Experience draughting to BS8888 standards
• Skilled in 3D mechanical design (Solid Works preferred)
