We are recruiting on behalf of a leading UK organisation delivering complex engineering and environmental projects. They are seeking a Project Buyer to join their procurement team, supporting major UK EPP projects with strategic sourcing, supplier management, and technical procurement.

The RoleYou will manage procurement for technically complex projects, ensuring timely delivery of materials, equipment, and services while optimising cost, quality, and compliance. This is a hands‑on role requiring strong technical understanding, advanced negotiation skills, and excellent stakeholder management.
Key Responsibilities- Analyse technical specifications and work with engineering teams to ensure procurement alignment
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best terms, pricing, and delivery
- Raise and manage purchase orders, variations, and track deliveries
- Coordinate across engineering, site, commercial, and logistics teams to resolve issues
- Expedite critical items and monitor supplier performance
- Maintain accurate procurement records and reports in ERP systems
- Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field
- 3+ years’ experience in project or technical procurement (construction, M&E, infrastructure, capital projects)
- Proven experience in complex negotiations with measurable cost savings
- Experience of understanding engineering specifications
- Knowledge of procurement processes, ERP systems, and UK import/export regulations
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and analytical skills
- Proactive, solutions-focused, and resilient under pressure
